Katie's Garden
Completed in 2021, this project began with a uniquely large lot and homeowners eager to build their own raised beds—until they discovered what Homegrown Gardens could create.
Thinking of their three young daughters, they envisioned a magical space that would nurture playfulness, spark curiosity, and introduce them to the joys of gardening.
The challenge lay in transforming a part of the yard that typically flooded. To solve this, we built a custom bridge over a central drain where water naturally collects, then installed river rock channels throughout the landscape to guide water to the drain. The raised bed garden sits on high ground, perfectly positioned and visible from the house.
Garden by day. Relax by the fire at night.
This expansive transformation now features a beautiful multi-layered landscape, complete with meandering paths through an orchard and a variety of perennial beds beyond—creating a truly enchanting space for the whole family to grow into.
