A plant's long-term health and productivity begins at germination where a lot of TLC goes on behind the scenes before transplanting healthy plants into your garden. Karen and her plant care team nurtures her non-GMO, organic seedlings from day one with proper lighting, moisture and soil conditions which promotes deeper root systems, sturdier stems, and vigorous green growth. When the weather is right, the tiny sprouts are gradually acclimated to outdoor elements, a process called hardening, and meticulously cared for until they are ready to transplant into your garden. You'll have peace of mind knowing you are planting a high-quality mature plant, which sets you up for success and equates to a more bountiful harvest throughout the season!

1. Select your plants & seeds
Visit our online shop to choose your classic garden staples or mix it up and grow unique heirloom varieties that you cannot find in stores. Expertise is shared, and suggestions are provided based on extensive growing experimentation in Chicago weather.
2. Meet your plant babies
Pick up your order at Homegrown Gardens in two visits: mid-late April for Spring plants and late May for Summer plants. You'll be notified when weather conditions are appropriate and your plants are at the right maturity level for planting.
If Homegrown Gardens has built a garden space on your property, schedule a Premiere Planting Event to have your plant babies delivered and transplanted into your raised beds with the right organic fertilizers and spacing in mind.
